A South Korean woman, who was allegedly raped at a hotel in Madhya Pradesh on January 14, has filed a complaint with police in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra.
In her complaint filed in Aurangabad on Thursday, the 23-year-old tourist alleged that she was raped by a waiter of a hotel in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, located in Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, on January 14, Kranti Chowk police said.
The woman mentioned that she landed in Bandhavgarh after visiting a few tourist places in MP. At a hotel there, she asked the waiter to serve her beer in her room.
She alleged that the waiter laced her drink with some sedatives and she became unconscious after consuming it. The waiter then allegedly raped her, police said.
The woman also mentioned that she had come to India and visited various tourist spots in the country.
On January 29, her bag containing camera, cellphone and cash was also allegedly stolen from the railway station area in Aurangabad, according to police.
Later, she narrated the alleged offence in MP to a tourist guide, who suggested that she file a complaint with police.
Aurangabad Assistant Commissioner of Police Naresh Meghrajani said the woman would be sent to the concerned police station in MP under police security today for further investigation in the case.
