Danish, the son of Dadri lynching victim Mohammad Iqlakh who was grievously injured in the attack that left his father dead, was on Saturday shifted to the army’s Research and Referral hospital in New Delhi.
The 22-year-old was moved from Noida’s Kailash Hospital, where he was being treated for the past 12 days.
He was shifted to the army’s premier institute in the national capital at around 8 pm, an official at KailashHospital said.
Dr Anil Gurnani of Kailash Hospital said Danish has recovered well and is able to walk and move about. He is being essentially shifted for rest and rehabilitation.
“He was able to recognise (people) and also walk with support. He has eaten food as prescribed by doctors,” said Irfan, son of Iqlakh’s elder brother, Jamil.
Iqlakh, 50, was beaten to death and his 22-year-old son Danish was critically injured by a mob which barged into their house on the night of September 28 following rumours that the family had consumed beef.
Danish’s elder brother Sartaj is a corporal with Indian Air Force. On Friday, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had said that Sartaj was being given accommodation at Air Force’s SubrotoPark residential complex in Delhi.
