The Qide Education Center is a military-style boot camp which offers treatment for internet addiction. As growing numbers of young people in China immerse themselves in the cyber world, spending hours playing games online, worried parents are increasingly turning to boot camps to crush addiction. Military-style boot camps, designed to wean young people off their addiction to the internet, number as many as 250 in China alone.

Though instability continues to plague Pakistan and many areas are dominated by social conservatism, some of the country's more affluent residents have worked to fashion a very different kind of lifestyle for themselves. Pictures of men and women taking part in all sorts of activities and professions -- from being a pilates instructor, to a textile retail entrepreneur, to a member of a rock band -- offer a different view of Pakistan to images of conflict that often make the news.

Family members, foreign dignitaries and guests attended a ceremony in Srebrenica on July 11 marking the 19th anniversary of the massacre in which Bosnian Serb forces commanded by Ratko Mladic killed up to 8,000 Muslim men and boys. The remains of 175 identified victims were buried at a memorial cemetery during the ceremony. Their bodies were found in some 60 mass graves around the town.

Militants armed with rocket-propelled grenades attacked Kabul International Airport in one of the most audacious assaults on the facility, used by both civilians and the military, in a year. The attack lasted about four hours after four unidentified militants armed with automatic rifles and rocket-propelled grenades opened fire on the airport from the roof of the building just to its north. Residents walked into the building, after the insurgents were all killed.
