Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yashwant Sinha has questioned the manner in which he was sacked as party spokesman.

Speaking to media persons in New Delhi on Wednesday, Sinha said his comments on party president L K Advani's views on Mohammed Ali Jinnah and about the performance of the Jharkhand government were not made in his capacity as spokesperson.

However, Sinha said he had no plans to leave the party.

The former Union finance minister said he had raised the issues in the interest of the party.

"The comment about the party president was in context of the party's general line, and the Jharkhand critique was intended to improve the government's performance. Neither of these comments come under the purview of the working of the party spokesman," he said.

He was sacked as spokesperson of the party on Tuesday by the Advani.

Sinha had criticised comments made by L K Advani on the latter's trip to Pakistan.

Advani had described Mohammad Ali Jinnah as secular leader.

Sinha's controversial comments came soon after Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief K Sudarshan lashed out at Advani and asked him to make way for a new leader.
