Separatist leader Asiya Andrabi has been arrested in Srinagar.

Andrabi, the founder of the Dukhtaran-e-Millat, an Islamist separatist organisation is also a member of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

The DeM is known for the diktats it issues periodically to the Valley residents on things Andrabi and her ‘brother’ Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Lashkar-e-Tayiba leader Hafiz Saeed consider un-Islamic.

Andrabi is married to Ashiq Hussain Faktoo, a Hizbul Mujahideen leader, who is now in jail. Few captured militants have confessed that videos of her speeches are shown at terror training camps across the Line of Control.

Earlier in 2015, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested Andrabi from her residence in Soura in connection with two cases registered against her -- one for waving the Pakistani flag and other for addressing a rally by Hafiz Saeed via phone in Pakistan.

Earlier in the day, two terrorists were killed, while three soldiers lost their lives as an army camp in Kupwara’s Panzgam in Jammu and Kashmir was under attack.

An officer was among the three army men who were killed in the attack.

The location of the under attack-camp is close to the Line of Control.

This the second major attack on defence forces in a week, as last Monday as many as 25 Central Reserve Police Force personnel were killed in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma.
