Air Pollution is a serious major issue over the entire world.

In India particularly in India's major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai are in a battle with the air pollution. Particularly in the nation's capital Delhi the air pollution is getting worse in past few months which lead to respiratory diseases in the people.

To measure the air pollution we have the air quality index (AQI) which is a number used by government agencies to communicate to the public how polluted the air currently is or how polluted it is forecast to become. As the AQI increases, an increasingly large percentage of the population is likely to experience increasingly severe adverse health effects.

Rediff Labs has analysed Delhi's air quality through its product real-time air quality analyser. This analyser gives you up-to-date information how air quality is varying from time to time in Delhi. The data is sourced from the Central Pollution Control Board.

It shows the Air Quality Index, which is a number used by the government to communicate to the public how polluted the air is or how polluted it is to become.

This analyser allows the user to compare and interpolate the AQI for two different date and time periods. AQI is categorised from ‘Good to Worse’ starting from 0 to 500. It also shows the various pollutants like PM10, SO2, NO2, PM 2.5, CO, O3 which are harmful to humans creating respiratory diseases.

You can compare the AQI for two different dates and time period in order to see whether pollution levels have decreased or increased. The interpolation with the krigging model gives us an overall idea about whether air quality is worse or better throughout Delhi region.(It’s a mathematical estimation, actual condition in that place may vary).

The detailed legend tells us the health impact caused by this pollution.
