"The issue is that those who broke the laws, fooled the police, reached the helipad without any authority of being there, no case has been filed against them," Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh told the media.
"And those who caught them and stopped them from reaching the helipad, cases have been filed against all of them. Even case has been filed against the police. This is what I called Mayawati's jungleraj," he said.
The Allahabad police has also lodged criminal cases against Congress legislature party leader in UP Pramod Tiwari and member of Legislative assembly Naseeb Pathan.
The FIR was lodged on a complaint by Abhishek Yadav, one of the four SP youth wing supporters who alleged he had been thrashed by special protection group personnel and the Congress leaders at the venue of Rahul Gandhi's rally on Monday.
Yadav was arrested along with three other supporters of Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha when they were running towards Rahul Gandhi's helicopter, trying to show him a black flag. They were pressing the demand for restoring students' union at the Allahabad University which was accorded central status in 2005.
