The 66-year-old Congress leader was expelled from the assembly on Wednesday after being indicted by a house committee for alleged irregularities in a land deal in Amritsar and was booked by the Vigilance Bureau on Thursday.
The court had granted Singh bail last year in connection with the Ludhiana City Centre scandal which was to expire on Friday. Justice Mohinder Pal observed that there was no need to cancel Singh's bail as he had always joined the investigations in the two cases registered against him--the Ludhiana case and another--relating to charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The judge noted that whenever Singh had gone abroad, he had returned well in time. Singh left for the UK on Thursday evening to consult doctors, a close aide told PTI, denying that the Congress leader "had fled the country to evade arrest".
Singh will meet the publisher and editor of a book written by him and attend a function to be organised by an NGO Umeed foundation, he said. The permission to Amarinder to visit the UK was given by a Ludhiana court on August seven.
The latest graft case was registered against Singh after a special committee of the Assembly had indicted for favouring a private builder in acquisition of 32.10 acres of Amritsar Improvement Trust land.
