In his affidavit, Bhushan also stated that Maran was not even questioned or arrested for his role in coercing and finalising the sale of Aircel to Malaysia-based Maxis group. He also accused the CBI of overlooking vital facts on Maran''s role in the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
It maybe recalled that last Thursday, the CBI had told the Supreme Court that Maran wasn't found to have coerced in finalising the sale of Aircel to Malaysia-based Maxis group.
It, however, said that the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders such as the late Pramod Mahajan, former disinvestment minister Arun Shourie and former finance minister Jaswant Singh were suspected to have defied the telecom policy.
