With the Presidential race hotting up, the National Democratic Alliance on Friday discussed all candidates in the fray but decided to 'wait and watch' the developments.

"The meeting was not for taking decisions. Friday's meeting was in the context of Presidential poll, to discuss developments so far. To exchange notes and the way forward," Bharatiya Janata Dal leader L K Advani told reporters after the 90-minute meeting of NDA leaders.

The NDA leaders dwelt at length on all the names being talked about as possible candidates in the July 19 Presidential election.

"We are not in a hurry. We discussed all candidates, who met whom, who wants to send whom to Rashtrapati Bhavan with what motive," Advani said.

He said the NDA will also consult its chief ministers on the issue and meet again. The NDA leaders also decided to be in touch with all non-Congress parties, particularly those in opposition.

Advani also apprised the NDA leaders of his discussions yesterday with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who has proposed the name of NCP leader P A Sangma for the top Constitutional post.

"I discussed with Jayalalithaa, she said never before has a government in Delhi botched up so important an election as that of Rashtrapati as this government has done," he said.
