I just spoke to the LG (Lieutenant Governor). He has assured that more police forces are being sent. Violence will not be tolerated by anyone. I request people to maintain peace. No solution will come out of violence.

-- Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi chief minister

Instructed @DelhiPolice and @CPDelhi to ensure that law and order is maintained in North East Delhi. The situation is being closely monitored. I urge everyone to exercise restraint for maintenance of peace and harmony.

-- Anil Baijal, Delhi Lt Governor

Never felt so scared in my own city.

-- Manish Sisodia, Delhi deputy CM

There can be no space for violence in the land of Mahatma Gandhi, nor can there be any place in the country for forces that seek to impose their communal and divisive ideology on the people.

-- Congress president Sonia Gandhi

Anti-social elements indulged in violent incidents in Delhi, in the name of agitation to oppose the CAA.

-- G Kishan Reddy, minister of state for home

The violence today in Delhi is disturbing and must be unequivocally condemned. Peaceful protests are a sign of a healthy democracy, but violence can never be justified. I urge the citizens of Delhi to show restraint, compassion and understanding no matter what the provocation.

-- Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader

I appeal to Delhiites to maintain peace. Violence only causes harm to the common people and the country.

-- Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress general secretary

I request people to exercise restraint in view of the disturbance in Jafrabad, Yamuna Vihar, Karawal Nagar and surrounding areas of northeast Delhi.

-- Manoj Tiwari, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party chief

With folded hands, I request people in Babarpur Assembly to maintain peace. Some people are purposely trying to spoil the atmosphere. I have spoken to Delhi LG and he has assured me that more policemen will be deployed to bring the situation under control.

-- Gopal Rai, Delhi minister and Babarpur MLA
