PM meets President, briefs her on internal security

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met President Pratibha Patil on Wednesday and discussed the internal security in the country and the forthcoming South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit meeting in Sri Lanka.

During the meeting, which lasted for 45 minutes, Singh briefed the President about the recent spate of terror attacks in the country and apprised her about his visit to Ahmedabad on Monday, official sources said.

 A Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said the President and the prime minister discussed issues of national and international importance.
