Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has praised Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his governance, Union Minister and President of National Conference Farooq Abdullah said on Thursday.

Asserting that there was "no danger to the government" headed by his son Omar, the senior Abdullah said, "There is no trust deficit and during the (all-party) meeting today we told all the representatives about the governance that has taken place during the one and half years."

"We are very satisfied with the meeting...The all-party delegation will be welcomed by the state government and the Union Home Ministry and they will be encouraged to meet many people," Abdullah said.

The senior Abdullah was silent during the meeting and the speech on behalf of National Conference was given by Mohammed Shafi, who besides putting forward his party's autonomy proposal, favoured talks at the earliest.

"We said in the meeting that Kashmir issue is a political issue and not an administrative one and it needs a political solution and for this we have to initiate meaningful dialogue with separatists and others," Shafi said.

He said the autonomy to the state should be restored in its "original form" and if there is any better solution "then we are ready for that too."
