As the results of the five states assemblies -- Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram -- declared on Tuesday, here are how the political bigwigs fared in the seni-final before the 2019.
SACHIN PILOT
Sachin Pilot has won the closely-watched seat of Tonk by over 50,000 votes. This is Pilot's first assembly election. He has been a two-time parliamentarian. He was pitted against Yoonus Khan, fielded by the BJP as its sole Muslim candidate in the desert state.
ASHOK GEHLOT
Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has won by over 30,000 votes from Sardarpura constituency in Jodhpur district.
VASUNDHARA RAJE
Vasundhara Raje failed to make a comeback in Rajasthan, but won from Jhalrapatan by 45,000 votes.
SHIVRAJ SINGH CHOUHAN
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has won from his traditional Budhni seat by a margin of 58,999 votes, defeating former Union minister and senior Congress leader Arun Yadav. Chouhan had won the seat in 2013 with a margin of 84,805 votes.
K CHANDRASEKHAR RAO
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, or KCR as he is popularly known, has won from his home constituency of Gajwel by over 50,000 votes.
RAMAN SINGH
Singh, the BJP veteran, won from Rajnandgaon, but failed to steer the BJP to victory in the state.
AJIT JOGI
First chief minister of Chhattisgarh and Janta Congress Chhattisgarh chief Ajit Jogi has won from Marwahi seat.
K T RAMA RAO
TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao's son and state minister K T Rama Rao has won from Sircilla seat.
AKBARUDDIN OWAISI
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen's Akbaruddin Owaisi has managed to retain the Chandrayangutta constituency for the fifth consecutive time.
LAL THANHAWLA
Mizoram chief minister Lal Thanhawla has lost from both seats -- Champhai South and Serchhip.
