Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for a national memorial dedicated to country’s former President APJ Abdul Kalam in Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, marking the first death anniversary of the ‘missile man’.

An exhibition named ‘Mission of Life’ depicting the life of Dr Kalam and his achievements towards nation building was also inaugurated.

Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu while paying rich tributes, said, “It is difficult to believe that it is already one year since the great man left all of us for heavenly abode.

“But, Dr Kalam will live forever in our minds and hearts.”
