People of Bellary have given me justice today: Sriramulu

Former Karnataka minister Sriramulu sounded aggressive while the Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka went into the defensive after the results of the Bellary (rural) by poll on Sunday declared a victory for the close aide of the Bellary brothers by a thumping margin.

"The BJP had forgotten what I have done for them, and today I have proven my worth," Sriramulu said at a press conference in Bellary.

The more important development, however, is the fact that he will launch a new regional party and an announcement to this effect is expected in the next two days.

BJP state president K S Eshwarappa, who is now busy protecting the BJP flock as the Reddy brothers will try and poach some of them, said at Shimoga that he is pained by the result.

We will look into this and make corrections, Eshwarappa said.

Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda while congratulating Sriramulu, however, made it clear that there is no danger to his government.

Sriramulu will leave to Hyderabad in the next two days. He would meet with G Janardhana Reddy in jail and then announce the formation of a new party.

The Reddy brothers claim that they can pull out at least 25 MLAs from the BJP. However, they would make their moves very cautiously as they would first want some heat off them on the mining scandal first.
Sriramulu when contacted said there is no move to topple anyone. I will consult with my friend Janardhan Reddy first and then take any decision.

"The BJP seems to have forgotten me. I have slogged for the party and they dumped me. The people have given me justice today. This is the biggest court," he added.
