Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Amrit Raj said that a joint team of the Special Task Force and the Patna police conducted raids and seized instruments meant for blood and other tests worth Rs 30 lakh from 10 pathological laboratories late Friday night.
"After the raid, police sealed these pathological
centres and clinics as they were running without registration numbers and using fake names of doctors," he said.
Inspector General (operations) Amit Kumar said that a case has been lodged against the 17 arrested people including some owners and staff of pathological centres for cheating patients.
Ironically, all these clinics were located near the Patna Medical College and Hospital.
Police officials hinted that some more pathological centres would be raided soon.
