Pak's jihadi procurements mean terror in India

Recent reports stated that despite the war on teror Pakistan continues to procure 10,000 jihadis every year which, if true, is a clear pointer that terrorism is very much rampant and nothing much has changed despite the 'international pressure' on Pakistan.

With Pakistan procuring jihadis in such large numbers, the immediate fallout will be India which has in the recent past seen a steep increase in infiltration.

Sources in the Indian intelligence agencies say that the immediate threat for India is from the Al Qaeda and the Indian Mujahideen. Both these outfits have been planning to carry out strikes in India, and have been put in the forefront since the Inter Services Intelligence is trying to safeguard the Lashkar-e-Tayiba from the immense heat on it.

The Al Qaeda has managed to sneak in at least 50 of its men into the country in the past two months, it is learnt, and an alert has been sounded at all major cities.

According to an Intelligence Bureau report, these men managed to sneak into India through the sea and their landing point was in Gujarat after which they managed to get into Rajasthan and Maharashtra, the report adds.

IB sources told rediff.com that the Al Qaeda has been showing a keen interest in carrying out terror operations in India. Till a few years ago, the Al Qaeda did not view India as an enemy. They were only sympathetic to the Lashkar's battle in Kashmir.

The Al Qaeda always saw India as a safe passage to transport arms and men, and hence never aspired to carry out any disruptive activities that will disturb their route.

However, now, they see India as a threat and have decided to carry out operations, the IB also points out.

The Indian Mujahideen, on the other hand, is planning an operation on a major scale. IM's key man Riyaz Bhatkal is out of hibernation, and has reportedly flown into Sharjah from Pakistan, where he is rallying his troops to carry out a series of strikes in India.

The IB believes that previous blasts which took place at Bengaluru was more of a dry run and they are planning to carry out a series of strikes across the country in the days to come.

The IM will use local personnel who have been trained in Pakistan for this operation. A dedicated team of 30 members were taken to Pakistan a year ago and were trained specifically for major operations in India, sources revealed.

These men have now been flown into Sharjah and have been asked to await the final orders. Pakistan's ISI is overlooking this operation and has ordered that even Amir Raza, chief of the Indian Mujahideen in Pakistan, flies down to Sharjah and oversees operations from there.
