Pakistan violates truce again

In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops on Tuesday fired at forward Indian positions in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district disrupting border fencing repair work.

No one was injured in the firing from across the border, an army official said.

Pakistani troops fired Pika rounds targeting forward areas in Sabzian belt along the Line of Control at around 1050 hours, he said.

"Our troops were carrying border fencing repair work at the time of firing. They fired six to 8 Pika rounds. The aim was to disrupt the repair work," the official said.

The fencing repair work was disrupted for some time, he said.

"This is also a case of ceasefire violation," the official said adding the army would lodge a protest with Pak authorities.

The repair of the border fencing was being carried out in view of infiltration threat from acorss the border, the official said.

Pakistani troops also fired UBGL rounds on forward Indian posts in Sabzian belt on Monday morning, he said.

Troops guarding the border fired back, the official said adding there was no loss of life or damage on the Indian side.

On May 12, Pakistani troops resorted to small arms firing along the LoC on Indian post Kobra in Sabzian belt.

On May 4, they targeted Indian forward posts in Nangitikri belt along the LoC in Rajouri district.

A total of 105 ceasefire violations along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir have taken place since 2010.
