At a time when Pakistani cricket team is in India to play a bilateral series after a gap of five year, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan has termed the visit as a 'disgusting gesture', and says that cricketing ties between the two countries are badly effecting the freedom movement of Kashmir.
The Pakistan cricket team on Saturday reached India to play two T20 and three One-Day Internationals on the Indian soil after a span of five years. Pakistan has not played a series since its last tour of India in 2007 following soared ties between the neighbours in the wake of 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
In message to Rediff.com, TTP central spokesperson Ihsanullah Ihsan said, "Pakistani cricket team is due to visit India, while India is the one forbidding Kashmiri Muslim nation to freedom, and whose hands are soaked in blood of Muslims in Kashmir and inside India."
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena is protesting over the visit of Pakistani cricket team and had earlier said, "Pakistan is responsible for the 2008 Mumbai carnage and it would not be allowed to play in the country".
Like Shiv Sena, the TTP is also against the cricketing ties between the two archrivals but there is a difference of stance - the first is annoyed over the Mumbai attacks while second questions why Ajmal Kasab, the lone survivor of the 26/11 attacks, was executed by the Indians.
Ihsan said that there should be no cricket with India as, "They (Indians) are due to pay for the blood of our hero, Shaheed Ajmal Kasab. God willing mujahedeen of TTP will soon clear the debt of blood of martyrs with India".
He further said, "The visit of Pakistani team to India is a disgusting gesture," and added that Pakistan is taking all such steps under the pressure of the United States.
