Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday met Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in Jammu and briefed him about the peace and development scenario prevailing in the state at present.
Abdullah raised the issue of the closure of the ‘Pathribal fake encounter’ case by the army and emphasised the need of giving justice to the families of the victims,

The chief minister also apprised the prime minister of the achievements registered by the coalition government during the last five years in the state in various fields of socio-economic development, empowerment of people, employment generation and restoration of peace and stability.
Matters pertaining to security and law and order also came up for discussion in the meeting.
In the meeting Abdullah raised the issue of closure of case by the army in respect of Pathribal incident and emphasised the need of giving justice to the families of victims and punishment to those responsible for innocent killings.
Omar also discussed suspension of cross Line of Control) trade following a narcotic haul from a PoK truck and stressed the need for amicable resolution of the matter with Pakistan so that the important CBM of trade across the LOC is not jeopardised.
The chief minister expressed gratitude to the prime minister for his support to the State in its endeavour to fast track development and move ahead towards achieving the cherished goal of prosperity and tranquility.
