A 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 52-year-old Travelling Ticket Examiner in a moving train in Rajasthan's Sirohi district, Government Railway Police sources said on Saturday.

The victim, hailing from Abu Road and the daughter of a retired railways employee, was travelling alone in a general coach in Ajmer-Dadar train from Ajmer to Abu Road when the incident took place.

During her journey, she met an off-duty TTE Dinesh Dutt Mishra, who she already knew. He lured her to an AC coach on the pretext of getting her a comfortable seat.

In the AC coach, he allegedly raped her. She raised an alarm following which passengers of the coach caught him and handed him over to the GRP at Abu road junction, they said.

When the incident came to light, railways authorities found that the TTE on-duty Amar Singh Rathore was missing from the train.

"Rathore did not complete his duty hours and alighted from the train at Phalna station before the scheduled junction and the incident of rape happened after that," said an official of North-Western Railway in Jaipur.

"Both the TTEs have been suspended. Mishra for his alleged involvement in the rape case and Rathore for showing laxity in discharging duty," he added.
