"There will be no President's rule in Andhra Pradesh," said a senior All India Congress Committee functionary on condition of anonymity.

The Centre cannot promulgate President's rule, as the ratification has to be done in Parliament

"The Congress apprehends that entire opposition will vote against

President's rule," he said. Moreover, the Bharatiya Janata Party has categorically stated to support Telangana.

"The United Progressive Alliance-II does not have a majority in the Rajya Sabha, hence it is a double edged sharp weapon. The Congress has to think twice before bringing a motion before the Union Cabinet on the same," said the source.
