Nearly a week ahead of his Pakistan visit, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is upbeat and eager to visit historical places of the Indus valley civilization.

"Nitish Kumar is upbeat and very keen to visit historical places of Indus valley civilization during his visit to Pakistan," an official in chief minister office said on Tuesday.

Another official told rediff.com that Nitish Kumar has asked a top official of the tourism department to brief him about historical places of the Indus valley civilization in Pakistan before his visit.

"Nitish Kumar is not hiding his interest to visit historical places of Indus valley civilization during his visit to Pakistan with his party leaders and top officials," the official said.

Nitish Kumar will make an official visit to Pakistan for a week from November 9 to 16. In August, a Pakistani delegation, during a visit to Bihar, extended an invitation to Nitish Kumar on behalf of Pakistani Punjab's Chief Minister Mohammad Shahwaz Sharif, brother of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, to visit the

neighbouring country.

According to officials, as per his official programme, Nitish Kumar will visit the archaeological sites of the ruin of Indus civilization including Moen Jo Daro and Harappa.

Located near the city of Larkana, Moen Jo Daro was the metropolis of the ancient Indus valley civilization. The city is entirely built of baked bricks covers and has such modern day technologies that would have been magnificent in that time like covered drains and public baths.

Harappa is the other most important site of the Great Indus valley civilization. Harappa is situated in Punjab in Northeastern Pakistan and is 20 km west of Sahiwal. It is a large city of the Indus valley civilization which is now one of the Unesco World Heritages sites.
