A fact-finding team of National Human Rights Commission, led by commission member Nirmala Sawant-Prabhawalkar, today visited  Murwadi village in Lakhani taluka where three minor sisters were found to have been killed after sexual abuse earlier this month.

The girls were aged 6, 9 and 11 years respectively. They went missing from home on February 14, and bodies were found in a well in a field later.

No arrests have been made in the case so far.

The NHRC team met District Collector Sachidanand Singh and Superintendent of Police Aarti Singh. The team also visited the school where the girls were studying, and met the family. It would submit report to the Chief Minister later.

The incident has led to outrage across the state. State Home Minister R R Patil and Union Minister Praful Patel have visited the village of neighbouring Bhandara district in the wake of the incident.

The other members of the NHRC team were Advocate Vijaya Bagde and Advocate Smita Sarode-Singhalkar.
