J&K: NCP leader escapes militant attack

A senior leader of Nationalist Congress Party managed a narrow escape when suspected militants opened fire at him in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Tuesday. The district president of NCP for Kishtwar district Parvez Ahmed Tak was on its way to Patnazi when militants fired on him from a hill top in Bonjwa area of Kishtwar district on Monday night, police said.

The Personal Security Officers (PSOs) of the leader returned the fire resulting in a brief exchange following which the militants escaped, they said adding there was no injury or loss of life in the attack.Later, police and security forces after getting the information launched a search operation in the area to track down those responsible for the act.
