According to a survey carried out across Gujarat, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, led by Chief Minister Narendra Modi, will win the forthcoming state assembly elections comfortably.
The survey, jointly conducted by a news channel and a weekly magazine, predicts that the BJP will get 50 per cent of the total votes.
Opposition party Congress will get 30 per cent of the votes while former BJP leader Keshubhai Patel's newly-formed Gujarat Parivartan Party will get three per cent of the votes, according to the survey.
Congress has got some hope from voter bases among tribal and Dalits, says the survey.
It further states that voters from Kadva Patel community will vote for the BJP, but the votes of the Leuva Patel community will be divided among the saffron party and the Congress.
According to the survey, 71 per cent of people in the state are fully satisfied by Modi's leadership. It further states that most people find the performance of Modi as CM more satisfactory than that of Manmohan Singh as the prime minister.
The survey also found that 25 per cent of Muslims in Gujarat are likely to vote for the BJP.
