Mumbai: Commuters get violent as local train services are disrupted

The Mumbai police on Tuesday resorted to firing in the air and baton charging to control irate passengers at Nalasopara railway station.

Nalasopara is a municipal council located in Thane district.

According to preliminary television reports, the incident took place at Nalasopara railway station in Thane district where the passengers expressed their anger over the delay and disruption of local train services.

The police first baton-charged the mob and then fired in the air. No casualties have been reported from the venue of the incident.
