Keeping up the tradition, a 'battle' was fought at Gautampura, around 55 km from Bhopal, between two groups from neighbouring villages as part of Diwali festivity in which 75 persons received minor injuries, police said.
The battle is fought between 'Turra' troops of Gautampura and 'Kalangi' troops of Runji village.
The troops launch Hingot fruits stuffed with explosive powder as in the rockets which are used during Diwali.
A police officer said that while 72 persons received minor injuries in the battle last night and were discharged after first aid, three persons were seriously injured and were sent to M Y Hospital in Bhopal.
Since it is a traditional way of celebrating Diwali, the administration does not ban the annual Hingot battle, official sources said.
