Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his Washington leg of his US visit. While there were garbas and banners welcoming Modi to the White House, clashes between pro-Modi and some Kashmiri and Pakistani groups also broke out.

Modi supporters clash with the groups protesting the prime minister's visit with US President Barack Obama.
Tempers flared within the two groups and they got involved in a scuffle which had to be stopped by police officials.
Anti-Modi supporters continue to chants slogans and banners condemning his role in the Gujarat 2002 riots and demanding a separate Kashmir.
Meanwhile, pro-Modi supporters were full of energy and celebrated their role model's visit to Washington with much gusto and fervour.
Modi supporters also did the garba outside the White House to welcome him.
Dressed in colourful traditional clothes, the participants danced energetically to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
