PHOTOS: Modi touches down in power capital of the world

 After charming his fans and US lawmakers in New York, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Washington. US deputy secretary of state William Burns received Modi at the Andrews Air Force Base. 

A large number of Indian-American supporters were present along the road to cheer Modi on his way to Blair House. They welcomed him with chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Modi, Modi”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi waves as he alights from the special aircraft that touched down at  Andrews Air Force Base.

Modi is greeted by US deputy secretary of state William Burns. 

Modi makes his way to Blair House. 

Modi greets fans who arrived at the airport to welcome him to Washington, DC. 

Modi made sure that he took some time out and spoke to his well-wishers and fans who were waiting to catch a glimpse of the prime minister.
