Militants strike again in Sopore; Cop killed

Two days after militants killed a cop and a civilian in the apple rich north Kashmir's  Sopore town, they struck again on Monday evening killing another cop and wounding a civilian.

The police said militants sprayed bullets at a passing car near the main bus stand in Sopore town, killing a cop identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Fafoo and critically wounding a civilian identified as Nazir Ahmad Dar.

Injured Dar was evacuated to Sopore sub-district hospital, where attending doctors referred him to Srinagar for specialised treatment.

Two days back militants had shot and killed a cop and a civilian in the town. Security forces are searching the area.
