Maoists kill abducted cop in Odisha

An assistant sub-inspector, who was kidnapped by suspected Maoists in Odisha's Nuapada district on Tuesday has been killed.

Krupa Majhi, an ASI of Dharmabandha police outpost, was escorting a water tanker to a Central Reserve Police Force camp at Goudha when his vehicle was waylaid and he was taken away by armed men.

Majhi was reportedly shot dead at around 3:30 pm. More details awaited.
