Dozens of Maoist guerrillas in Bihar's Gaya district blew up a petrol pump and tried to set ablaze an oil point, tanker and generator room, the police said on Friday.

Four employees of petrol pump have been missing since the Maoist attack.

Police sources said activists of the banned Communist Party of India-Maoist attacked the petrol pump late on Thursday night. The petrol pump is situated on Grand Trunk Road near Barachatti, a Maoist stronghold.

The petrol pump, Rocky Automobile, is owned by Bindi Yadav, former president of Gaya civic body. Yadav, a criminal-turned-politician, is known to use muscle power and faces several criminal cases.

The police suspect the Maoists set ablaze Yadav's petrol pump for not paying levy demanded by them.
