A man has been arrested when he tried to throw a shoe at Team Anna in Dehra Dun on Saturday, police said.

The man has been identified as Kishan Lal, 35, who hails from Prem Nagar locality of Dehra Dun city.

The incident took place when prominent Team Anna members Arvind Kejriwal, Manis Sisodia and Kiran Bedi were addressing a public meeting at Lord Venkatshwara Hall, SSP Dehra Dun G N Goswami told PTI.

However, Goswami denied media reports that the shoe was hurled at Team Anna.

"We managed to catch hold of the man when he was about to throw a shoe", Goswami said.

A section of the audience, who were present at the meeting, however claimed the man managed to throw the shoe but it did not hit the intended target.
