Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee was admitted to a city nursing home early Thursday morning after she complained of breathlessness and chest pain.
Her condition was stated to be stable now, party general secretary Mukul Roy told PTI.
Banerjee had attended a joint rally with Congress on Wednesday
to protest the police lathicharge on a Trinamool dharna led by her on Monday night at Singur in Hooghly district to oppose the West Bengal government's acquisition of farm land for Tata Motors project.
She complained of breathlessness and chest pain early in the morning and was immediately rushed to the hospital, Roy said.
