There are fathers, sons, nephews, daughters and brothers contesting the elections in Telangana this time, which makes it an interesting battle, says Vicky Nanjappa
Leading the pack is Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekara Rao, who has his son, daughter and nephew contesting the elections. KCR himself is contesting the Parliamentary elections from Medak and the assembly segment from Gajewal.
His daughter Kavitha is contesting the Nizambad Lok Sabha seat. KCR’s son K T Rama Rao, a sitting member of Legislative Assembly from Sircilla is seeking his re-election from the same constituency. Another member of the KCR family in the fray is KCR’s nephew T Harish Rao from the Siddipet assembly constituency.
D K Aruna, a former minister in former chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s cabinet will contest from the Gadwal assembly seat, while her brother T Rammohan is the candidate from the Parigi assembly seat. Kavitha, daughter of D S Reddy Naik of the Congress will contest the Mahabubabad assembly seat, while her father is the candidate from Dornakal.
G Vivekananda, who is seeking a re-election from the Peddapalli Lok Sabha seat, has managed to rope in his brother G Vinod from the Chennur assembly constituency.
Rajgopal Reddy, who will fight the Bhuvanagiri parliamentary seat has his brother Venkat Reddy contesting the Nalgonda assembly seat.
