Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi got a rousing welcome at the National Democratic Alliance’s first rally in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
“All calculations of political pundits will go wrong. We don’t want the math of these pundits who sit in AC chambers. This election is not about math but about chemistry,” said Modi.
“Modi, Babu (TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu) and Kalyan (actor Pawan Kalyan) are together on stage. If you do the math it is 1+1+1 equals 3. But this election it is about chemistry and 1+1+1 is 111 and that is what we are aiming at Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
“How much more will you let the Congress insult you? Narasimha Rao has to go down as one of the best prime ministers our country has produced. There are so many schemes in the name of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi but why not in the name of Rao? On his death anniversary the Gandhi clan does not offer prayers,” added Modi.
“If it was not for Sardar Patel then would have needed a visa to reach Hyderabad. Sardar Patel had the guts and that is why Hyderabad is with India.”
“The day Telangana was formed I had pointed out that the manner in which it was done was wrong. They ensured the birth of a child, but killed the mother. They formed Telangana but killed the Telugu spirit. It is time for many more Pawan Kalyans to rise because he really cares about Telugu spirit,” said Modi.
“Today Telangana and Seema Andhra need a good doctor as they are orphaned children. Who should take care of these two babies? The new government in Delhi to be formed understands the problem. Don’t be swayed by the Congress which claims credit for bifurcation because all they did was kill the spirit of the people,” added Modi.
Modi was visibly pleased with Pawan Kalyan, who is campaigning for the BJP, following his speech and was seen shaking his hand with a smile.
Pawan Kalyan in his short speech did not touch upon the bifurcation issue. He maintained that the Telugu pride is what is important. Development is a major issue and only under Modi will the country prosper. He concluded his speech with a Congress hatao and make Modi PM slogan.
Naidu in his address reminded the people about what the TDP had done for Hyderabad. “The TDP is which made Hyderabad a world class city,” he said. “I am part of the NDA to ensure development. I have no doubt that Modi will become the prime minister. We have a lot of work and each and every region in AP needs to be developed,” he said.
