Uma Bharti's flip-flop on Narendra Modi is turning out to be a never-ending saga of sorts, with BJP insiders wondering why the lady, otherwise worldly-wise, chose to find fault with Modi.

On Tuesday, Bharti, the BJP candidate from Jhansi, pointed out that while Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a good orator, Modi was not. She promptly drew flak for it, and has now tweeted further hoping to please her party's prime ministerial candidate.

'Other than his mother, Modi was given birth by the soul of India, which is why he's the prime ministerial candidate,' the firebrand who was expelled from the BJP in 2005 for 'indiscipline' and only taken back in 2011, tweeted.

She also described Modi as an 'anokha' (unique) person.

'All that I said about Narendra Modi, I will repeat it again. The same thing, that A B Vajpayee was a good orator but Narendra Modi is (the) country's anokha (unique) person after years in whose support lakhs and lakhs turn up. This is what I had said,' she said.

Bharti is apparently unhappy that the Modi camp did not lobby for her candidature from her home state of Madhya Pradesh, whose Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had opposed her return to the BJP.

In UP's Jhansi, a seat currently held by the Congress, Bharti is locked in a multi-cornered contest with the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party posing a stiff challenge to her.
