Ratilal Mancharam Mandali, a school teacher, from Ahmedabad has been offered Rs 2 lakh for his miniature copy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare.
The book, which is 5cm by 3cm by 1cm (length/width/height) consists of 315 pages.
Mandali bought this tiny book from 'Ravivari' or Sunday Market in Ahmedabad for Rs 50 in 1975"> not knowing of the potential wealth the pages held.
He is in communication with The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Britain, who reportedly offered him Rs 2 lakh ($4,564) for the book. However, Mandali is unwilling to accept anything less than Rs 10 lakh ($ 22,820) for the minature work.
