Indis-Pakistan talks can be useful only if both the countries agreed over an agenda for dialogue in future, says Dr Hasan Askari Rizvi, a top defence analyst in Pakistan.
Rizvi told rediff.com, "The stalemate is neither in the interest of Pakistan nor India. Today's talks indicate whether India and Pakistan could work for further dialogue."
He said apart from the main issues between the two countries like Kashmir, terrorism and water, there are other issues that could be resolved more easily, but all would be possible if there are regular talks between the two countries.
According to Askari, both countries will have to show some positive attitude.
"We hope it brings positive developments and we are optimistic about this. But for all these things, the leadership of both of the countries will have to get out of their negative approach towards each other."
