Narendra Modi has done it!
With 303 seats for the Bharatiya Janata Party alone, it is evident that Modi's message, packaging muscular nationalism, security and Hindu pride, has worked wonders.
The opposition was left way behind with the Congress winning only 52 seats, two less than it needs for a Leader of Opposition post in the lower house and marginally more than the 44 it got in the last general elections.
With these results, Narendra Modi creates history by becoming the first non-Congress prime minister to be re-elected after completing a full five-year term in office.
He is also the only PM after Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi to be re-elected to office with full majority after completing a full term.
Here are the final results from the Lok Sabha elections.
