Justice B V Pinto while granting interim bail to Naidu for three months on health grounds on a surety of Rs 5 lakh and a bond of the same sum.
The court also stated that any extension of bail after three months will be subject to the satisfaction of the Lokayukta court. Naidu, who was a minister in the B S Yeddyurappa cabinet, was arrested along with his son Jagadish, a Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike corporator.
After the Lokayukta court had ordered an arrest warrant Naidu was picked up and later sent to judicial custody.
After being remanded to judicial custody on August 8, Naidu was subsequently admitted to Victoria Hospital where he had been undergoing treatment. It may be noted that his second bail plea made on health grounds was rejected by the Lokayukta court on October 17 which however accorded him permission to undergo treatment anywhere in the country under surveillance. He then moved the high court seeking bail on medical grounds.
Naidu, his corporator son Jagadish and SV Shrinivas, managing director of Itasca software company are among nine persons facing charges of irregularities in land allotment of KIADB in BK Halli village to the software company, floated by an aide of Naidu.
The court after granting bail to Naidu commenced hearing the bail plea filed by Yeddyurappa.
