The mood in the B S Yeddyurappa camp does not look upbeat and the beleagured CM appears to be giving up the fight to retain his post. Yeddyurappa who left for Puutaparthi in Andhra Pradesh to seek the blessings of godman, Sathya Sai Baba has clearly indicated to the high command that he would want either Dr V S Acharya or Sadananda Gowda to succeed him in case he is asked to give up the CM's post.
Sources in the BJP told rediff.com that Yeddyurappa will leave for New Delhi from Puttaparthi and have a last round of talks with the high command. Apart from seeking the ouster of the Reddy brothers from the government, Yeddyurappa is adamant that he would want either VS Acharya or Sadananda Gowda to replace him. Acharya is a cabinet minister in the BJP government while Gowda is the former chief of the Karnataka BJP.
Dr Acharya who is in Delhi to meet with national BJP chief Nitin Gadkari told rediff.com
State Home Minister R Ashok, who met BJP president Nitin Gadkari, claimed "there is no crisis in Karnataka. Only opposition parties are making this hungama. So I think today or tomorrow, it will be solved by the central leaders."
Meanwhile, Janata Dal-Secular leader and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy alleged that besides Yeddyurappa, several ministers were also involved in land scams. "If they have any morality, they must resign...not only Yeddyurappa but his entire cabinet should resign," he said.
