The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has sent a report to its leadership in New Delhi about party leaders who attended the launch of the B S Yeddyurappa's Karnataka Janata Party last Sunday.
The report, surprisingly, recommends action on only 13 out of the 22 leaders who were present at Yeddyurappa's party launch.
The reports contends that while 22 were present at the breakfast meeting hosted by Yeddyurappa prior to the launch of his new party, 13 of them had openly supported him by sharing the dais that day.
K S Eshwarappa, deputy chief minister and state BJP president, informed media persons in Belgaum, "We have left it to the Delhi leadership to act on the issue and will abide by any decision they would take."
Eshwarappa was, however, non committal about any decision regarding the dissolution of the House in the wake of the launch of the KJP.
He sounded optimistic when asked whether the BJP would survive its full term in Karnataka.
Meanwhile, the tug of war between Yeddyurappa and the BJP continues.
Both parties want each other to shoulder the blame for the fall of the state government.
If the Delhi leadership decides to act against the rebel MLAs then the government would be in a minority. However, party sources say that the government would want to pull on for some more time and hence only a show cause notice would be issued seeking an explanation.
Yeddyurappa, on the other hand, has shown no indication of pulling down the government. He is in Kerala at the moment conducting prayers at a temple and would return to the state on Wednesday after which he would embark upon a state-wide tour.
