Jawan killed in firing from across border

An army jawan was killed in firing from across the border along the Line of Control in Poonch district on Tuesday.

Suspected militants opened fire from across the border at Tata Post at around 2 am following which troops retaliated, official sources said.

In the brief exchange of fire, a jawan identified as Jang Bahadur of the 2nd Gorkha Rifles was critically injured and later died in hospital.
