The magistrate asked the team to produce them again on Monday.

The two have been booked under section 8 of the AP Public Security Act at the Sri Venkateswara University station.

They are accused of helping Ram Mohan Reddy alias Teja, the prime accused in the case.

Prasad is executive member of AP Civil Liberties Committee (Chittoor district unit) and Vijayabhaskar alias Mallanna is member of the Revolutionary Writers Association.

The APCLC and RWA said policemen in plainclothes picked up Prasad and Mallanna from their houses on Friday night. Their families were told that they were being taken for questioning.

Vani Prasad and Komali, their wives, sent a telegram to the high court seeking a direction to the government to furnish details of the detentions. The APCLC and RWA also raised a furore over the "illegal detention" and expressed apprehensions about their safety.
