"The comments attributed to me are totally malicious and false," Ijaz said in a statement released by his office.
Talib claimed that Ijaz told him that nothing happened at the crime branch office and whatever happened with Yousuf happened at the residence of the chief minister.
He also claimed that there were marks on the body of his father indicating that he had been beaten up badly and had died due to injuries sustained during interrogation at the chief minister's bungalow on Gupkar Road in Srinagar.
Omar Abdullah had alleged that People's Democratic Party was blowing the issue
out of proportion. "A judicial probe has been announced and I would appear before the commission to present my case," he told reporters. He even threatened to file a defamation suit against PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti for making false allegations.
"Let him go to the court. It would give us an opportunity to place facts before the court. We now have the statement of an eyewitness who corroborated that Yousuf was beaten up at the CM's residence," said Mehbooba Mufti.
Governor N N Vohra had asked for details of the incident from the state chief minister. Omar had gone on record statin that he would not see Vohra, but would make himself available to a judicial probe.
Policemen deployed on law and order duty chased hundreds of PDP workers in Jammu, who were protesting against Omar Abdullah demanding his resignation till the judicial probe is over.
