Following a request by Jammu-Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the speaker has revoked the suspension of two National Conference members of Legislative Assembly.
The suspension of four National Conference members had prompted the opposition leaders to boycott the ongoing session of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly.
Earlier in the day, the NC led by the party working president and former chief minister Omar Abdullah Wednesday staged a sit-in outside the state assembly to protest the suspension of four of its members.
The speaker of the state assembly, Kavinder Gupta had on Tuesday suspended Altaf Ahmad Kaloo and Abdul Majeed Larmi, for the rest of the session, following a ruckus in the house. Two members were also suspended by the chairman of the upper house.
Wearing black bands on their arms, the NC members staged the protest sit-in demanding revocation of the suspension order.
Omar had on Tuesday announced that his party will boycott the rest of the autumn session.
Both houses of the state legislature have been witnessing uproarious scenes since the opening of the brief autumn session on last Saturday.
The issues that are causing the pandemonium are beef ban and discussion on Article 35A of the Indian constitution.
State law minister, Basharat Bukhari, however, said that no discussions could be held on Article 35A as the matter was sub judice.
