PG Programme in Public Policy & Management June 2004-May 2006

The Centre for Public Policy, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore invites applications for admission to its Postgraduate Programme in Public Policy & Management, a full-time programme for mid-level civil servants.

Offered over 2 years-the first year being residential at IIMB, the participant has an advantage of exposure for a term in a leading international public policy institution.

The Centre for Public Policy was established at IIMB to enhance policy making and managerial competence in the public sphere with support from the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India and the United Nations Development Programme, with substantial contribution from IIMB.

Its objectives include:

Providing short term and long-term training in public policy and management.

Conducting the research in public policy.

Providing a forum for policy dialogue.

Providing the policy advisory services.

Eligibility:

Length of Service: The officer should have put in at least 7 years of Group A (Class-I) service.

Age Limit: The officers should not be more than 50 years as on July 1, 2004 (53 years in case of SC/ST candidates).

Earlier Training: The officer should not have undergone a training programme of 12 weeks or more duration in India or a programme of more than two weeks abroad, during a period of five years preceding the date of commencement of this programme.

UG & PG Programmes at the National Law University, Jodhpur

The National Entrance Test 2004 for UG & PG Programmes at the The National Law University, Jodhpur will be held on May 1, 2004 at Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Mumbai and Varanasi.

Undergraduate (Integrated Courses):

a. Management and Law (BBA, LLB Hons): Corporate, General.

b. Science and Law (BSc, LLB Hons): Criminal, IPR, General.

c. Policy Science and Law (BA, LLB Hons): Constitutional, General.

d. Technology & Law (BTech, LLB Hons): Technology & Regulatory System.

Eligibility for appearing in the test: 10+2 with 50% marks in aggregate. Students appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination in 2004 are also eligible to take the test. If selected they will have to produce marks sheet as proof of minimum 50% in the aggregate.

Age Limit: Applicant must not have been born earlier than July 1, 1984.

Postgraduate Programmes:

a. Master in Management and Law: Six semester integrated MBA, LL.M including one semester internship for corporate management and legal system.

b. Master in Governance Studies: Four semesters for those interested in Public Services.

c. Master in Intellectual Property Law: Four semesters for those interested in practice IPR as patent attorney.

d. Master in Trade Related Law: Four semesters specialized for practice/research in International Trade and Legal Systems.

e. Master in Criminal Law and Forensic Science: Four semesters.

f. Master in WTO Studies: Four semesters.

g. Master in Insurance Studies: Four semesters.

Eligibility for taking the test: Graduates in any subject with 55% marks in the aggregate. In addition degree in law shall be preferred.

Distance Education (Without any entrance Test):

Direct enrolment would start in the following two distance education Postgraduates courses with effect from July 1, 2004.

a. Master in Trade Laws.

b. Master in Criminal Law and Forensic Science.

NET 2004 application form and prospectus may be obtained by sending a DD of Rs 1,000 (US$ 100 for foreign/NRI applicants) in favour of the Registrar, National Law University Jodhpur.
